Bay Area Mommy Is A Blogger Idol Judge!

I will try to read AND score about 30 blog posts tonight. Actually, scrap the word “tonight”. It’s 1:36am here in California so it’s technically morning already. Sheesh! I have got to learn to do blogging stuff during the day even if I have 2 kids to take care of! That way, I wouldn’t need to stay up this late just so I can concentrate on my online duties.

Being a blogger isn’t easy. Actually, it is if it’s just a hobby for you. But once you start expanding your blog’s horizon and you start partnering with companies and other bloggers, it becomes something else completely. It becomes a business. And being a business, you’ve got to have good numbers. That’s why you see so many bloggers working hard just to build their site and establish a good name. That’s usually why there are so many giveaways around — exposure and stats. But a lot of bloggers tend to forget the reason why we got into blogging in the first place, which is to express ourselves through writing.

Blogger Idol is a competition that does away with the superficial numbers and focuses on the main reason for blogging — content. If you think you have something to share to the world, I encourage you to audition. It doesn’t matter if you have 20,000 fans or just 20 fans, which is why I took the responsibility of being one of this year’s Blogger Idol judges. I want to read fresh content and take a break from my blog (yes, I do get tired of my blog sometimes!). I want to see how these bloggers are similar to or different from me. And I want to discover blogs that I wouldn’t have had time to appreciate had I not been forced to read them.

Do you have a blog? Are you willing to take on a weekly assignment? Would you like to get a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy tab? And most importantly, do you want to be called this year’s Blogger Idol? To audition, just go to writersarethenewrockstars.blogspot.com and click on “Try Out”. We are taking auditions until the 17th.

And if you could do me a favor, may I request you to like the Blogger Idol Facebook page and tell them that Bay Area Mommy sent you?
