Headbands of Hope Review & Giveaway

HOPE. It’s such a big word. For some, it just expresses a casual longing for something. But for others, it may be the only thing that keeps them holding on.

Headbands of Hope is an organization that manufactures and sells headbands.

For every headband purchased, Headbands of Hope gives 1 headband to a girl with cancer and donates $1 to the St Baldrick’s Foundation to help fund childhood cancer research. Which means that when you buy 1 headband from them, you hit 3 birds with 1 stone: you get a beautiful headband for yourself, you help brighten up a cancer patient’s day and you contribute to cancer research to help save lives of children with cancer.

I received the Beaded Black Rose headband so I could write a review feature on them. The headband is actually very beautiful. It’s a very pretty accessory that can add an elegant sparkle to your outfit. The beaded embellishment is about 3 inches long and 1.5 inches wide, backed with felt on a skinny elastic band. I got it in the adult size which is 18 inches. It’s also available in kids size (15 inches).

I usually wear headbands whenever I want to exude a sweet or innocent aura.

I just feel like I look younger and seem nicer when I’m wearing a headband as opposed to my usual ponytail. Here are some photos of the Beaded Black Rose headband.

Now you might say you can just buy a similar headband somewhere else. That’s actually true. But what sets this one apart is the fact that by purchasing one, you are contributing to a great cause. It’s not something that would benefit just you. Your purchase will benefit kids who, in my mind, should be enjoying life, playing and exploring the world around them.

Just writing about this is making me tear up! I just can’t imagine how hard life is for these kids with cancer. I feel like every kid should experience just living a carefree life; playing without any problems or burdens. But the reality is, cancer chooses no age. There are kids that have this disease, and there are kids that die because of it.

But what could I do? It’s not like I can personally save the kids from cancer. No, I can’t. But what I CAN do is support organizations that are striving to develop treatments for it. And I hope you would decide to support them too.

  2. I really enjoyed this post, I appreciate and respect what Headbands of Hope does for young girls. If I won, I’d love the Simply Chic headband and I WOULD wear it with pride. Cancer has impacted some beautiful women in my family, some survived, some passed and one still battles like a champion every single day. Thank you for this post, although I wish I wasn’t tearing up right now.

  3. I would chose the Candy Cane. I am trying to get each of the girls an outfit together that represents candy canes and this would be perfect!

  4. This sounds like a great idea, I won a giveaway recently for a girl they are sponsoring and i asked them to donate it to her or a friend that is also going to the same experience. They got back to me that a little girl was going to receive my winnings of a doll house, etc. I feel so bad for these kids that have to go through such a frightening experience

      • Thank you, I love to do things like this and believe it or not, most of my winnings I give to others, well family and friends and someone in need. This particular giveaway was actually sponsoring the girl so how could I not. I need to check up on her again. The last time she was doing good but they knew someone else, a friend of hers that she knew going through the same thing so I had other things I saved that I won and sent them to that girl. These girls are 2 and 3 years old. They are beautiful. I will send you the 2 sites privately so I don’t take away from your supported cause. I don’t live near them or know them personally but I was glad to make both of them happy!!!! I am in Poconos Area Of Pennsylvania
